Description
The Pathways Air Quality ('Pathways-AQ') decision-support tool is an extension of the existing C40 Pathways tool. The original tool models city-level greenhouse gas emissions over time and allows users to input hypothetical actions, such as shifting to energy efficient household appliances, to estimate how they would change the city's total emissions by the year 2050. Pathways-AQ works the same way, but instead of modelling emissions of CO2e, it models emissions of PM2.5 along with four pollutants that also combine in the atmosphere to produce PM2.5 - nitrous oxides (NOx), sulpfur dioxide (SO2), ammonia (NH3), and volatile organic compounds (VOC).
